Main Characteristics
Portuguese Water Dogs are well balanced, robust dogs. They are extremely energetic and intelligent. Their profuse coat covers their whole body except under their forelegs and thigh and it has two distinct types; fairly long, loosely waved hair that has a slight sheen, or short hair that has harsh, dense compact curls and that lacks lustre. They can be black, white, brown, black and white or brown and white in colour.
