Chelicera




In arachnids, the Chelicera is one of the first pair of appendages at the front of the body.

Chelicerae often end in pincers, and in spiders they contain or are connected to venom glands and they are used to inject venom into prey.

In mites, they are sharply pointed and are used for piercing food.
