An Epiphyte is a plant that grows off the ground on another plant, such as a tree, or another object, such as a building.


They are often found in temperate and tropical areas and they obtain their nutrients from the air, rain or debris around them.


They are important micro-habitats for many animals such as insects and amphibians.
