Main Characteristics
Asian Palm Civets have a body length between 48 and 59 cms (19 - 23 inches), a tail length between 44 and 53.5 cms (17 - 21 inches) and they weigh between 2.4 and 4 kgs (5.3 - 8.8 lbs).
They have a coarse, shaggy coat and they are greyish in colour with black markings on their feet, ears and nose.
Habitat
Asian Palm Civets can be found in the temperate and tropical forests of south and south east Asia.
They are solitary, arboreal and nocturnal and they spend their days sleeping in a tree hollow.
Diet
Asian Palm Civets mainly feed on fruits, but they will also eat rodents, birds and insects.
Breeding
Asian Palm Civets give birth to litters of 2 - 5 youngsters.
