Main Characteristics
Crab-Eating Mongoose have a body length between 45 and 50 cms (17.7 - 19.7 inches), a tail length between 25 and 30 cms (9.8 - 12 inches) and they weigh between 1.8 and 2.3 kgs (4 - 5 lbs).
They are grizzled grey in colour and they have a white stripe that runs from the corners of their mouth, down the sides of their neck to their shoulder. They are excellent swimmers and are active at night.
Habitat
Crab-Eating Mongoose can be found in south and south east Asia.
Diet
Crab-Eating Mongoose feed on crabs, fish, snails, frogs, rodents, birds, reptiles and insects.
