Main Characteristics
Narrow-Striped Mongoose have a body length between 25 and 35 cms (9.8 - 13.8 inches), a tail length between 23 and 27 cms (9 - 10.6 inches) and they weigh between 0.6 and 0.7 kgs (1.3 - 1.5 lbs).
They are beige in colour with 8 - 10 dark stripes on their back and sides.
Habitat
Narrow-Striped Mongoose can be found in the open savannas of western Madagascar.
Diet
Narrow-Striped Mongoose manly feed on insects but they will also eat eggs, and small vertebrates.
Breeding
After a gestation period between 90 and 105 days, Narrow-Striped Mongoose give birth to a single cub. After 2 months the young are weaned and they disperse at 2 years of age.
