
(September 30, 2009) One of the largest freshwater fish in the world, the Chinese Paddlefish, is on the verge of extinction.
A three year search for the fish in the Yangtze river has failed to see or catch a single individual, which means that a specimen has not been see alive for at least six years.
There is a chance that some were not pick up in the survey, but experts predict the future of the Chinese Paddlefish is bleak.
