A Loon covered in sea slime

(November 02, 2009) Hundreds of seabirds are being washed up on U.S Pacific northwest coasts covered in a foamy sea slime.

The slime originates from algae blooms in the ocean and it hampers the waterproofing ability of the birds' feathers.
