Main Characteristics
Broad-Striped Mongoose have a body length between 30 and 34 cms (11.8 - 13.4 inches), a tail length between 24 and 30 cms (9.4 - 11.8 inches) and they weigh between 0.5 and 0.6 kgs (1.1 - 1.3 lbs).
They are pale brownish/grey in colour with dark, broad stripes on their back and sides.
Habitat
Broad-Striped Mongoose can be found in the forests of eastern Madagascar.
Diet
Broad-Striped Mongoose mainly feed on small vertebrates such as rodents, but they are also known to eat insects.
Breeding
Broad-Striped Mongoose give birth to a single youngster each summer.
