There are four Subspecies of the Sable Antelope:

Zambian Sable Antelope

This subspecies can be found in central Angola and western Zambia and they are classified as vulnerable.

Hippotragus niger niger
This subspecies is classified as low risk.

Hippotragus niger roosevelti
This subspecies is found in Kenya and Tanzania.

Giant Sable Antelope
Hippotragus niger variani
This subspecies can be found in central Angola and it is critically endangered.
