Main Characteristics
Gambian Mongoose are stocky compared to other species of mongoose. The have a body length between 30 and 45 cms (12 - 18 inches), a tail length between 9 and 23 cms (3.5 - 9 inches) and they weigh between 1 and 2.2 kgs (2.2 - 4.9 lbs).
Habitat
Gambian Mongoose can be found in woodlands, savannahs and grasslands of west Africa.
Diet
Gambian Mongoose forage in social groups during the day and they mainly feed on invertebrates.
