Main Characteristics
Liberian Mongoose have a body length of approximately 42 cms (16.5 inches), a tail length of approximately 20 cms (7.9 inches) and they weigh around 2.3 kgs (5 lbs).
They are dark brown in colour with dark and pale stripes on their neck and shoulders. They have a long, mobile snout, small teeth and long claws on their front feet.
Habitat
Liberian Mongoose can be found in Liberia and their range possibly extends to the neighbouring countries of Sierra Leone, Guinea and the Ivory Coast. It is believed that they live in small groups.
Diet
Liberian Mongoose feed on earthworms, grubs, small vertebrates and eggs.
Breeding
Very little is known about reproduction in the Liberian Mongoose.
