Main Characteristics
Meller's Mongoose have a body length between 44 and 85 cms (17 - 33 inches), a tail length between 30 and 40 cms (12 - 16 inches) and they weigh between 1.7 and 3 Kgs (3.7 - 6.6 lbs).
They are greyish/brown in colour with darker feet and a pale coloured underside and head. It is believed that they are solitary, terrestrial and active at night.
Habitat
Meller's Mongoose can be found in heavily grassed or wooded areas in southern Africa.
Diet
Meller's Mongoose mainly feed on small vertebrates, such as mice and lizards, termites and fruit.
